Development Key Facts
College Surgery Partnership proposes relocation to innovative new premises on the Willand Road in Cullompton
new centre will act as a “beacon” of good health for the whole community
new premises within 18 months
current draft plans are on display at the surgery in College Road and anyone can view them during opening hours - comments will be welcome
a wide range of services under one roof, and increasingly provide a “One Stop” service.
increase the amount of healthcare that is delivered close to the patient rather than in hospitals
aimed to improve the ability of people to look after themselves, to prevent disease and to maximise health
integrate the whole primary healthcare team including complementary therapy & a healthy living cafe
The services included at the new Integrated Centre for Health will be:
The traditional GP surgery
All the Primary Care services currently housed at the Cullompton Health Centre. That includes District Nursing, Health Visitors, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Dietary advice, Chiropody and a number of other services.
Pharmacy on site
Range of complementary services and treatments available
Voluntary services enabling voluntary groups and patients support groups to hold meetings and therapy classes
Patient library / information service and other (electronic) means for patients to learn and gain information about their problems, self-treat and improve their health
“Self Diagnostic Centre” where patients can take their own blood pressure/check their urine for glucose etc.
Diagnostic centre which will make some investigations available on site that previously had to be done in Tiverton or Exeter Hospitals.
Health and Social services will be brought together with, hopefully, Social Workers and the Citizens Advice Bureau having offices in the centre
Surgery patient support group area – where patients can directly get involved in feeding back thoughts on how services are developed.
