Swimming Pool Update
3rd July 2005. A report by MDDC indicates that there will be no
further consideration for funding of a pool in Cullompton until
population within 20 minutes drive is at an excess of 60,000 ? How far can you drive in 20 minutes? 14th July figure now reported as lowered to 50,000, current population for area covered by MDDC is about 40,000. See News item above
There is is a draft consultation copy of the Culm
Valley Community Plan available. The Plan has been produced by the Cullompton
Area Development Initiative (CADI) on behalf of the people of the Culm Valley
with the support of the South West Regional Development Agency and the Countryside
Agency.
The Plan contains twenty key projects that have been identified as best meeting
the needs of the community and the objectives of the Plan. These projects are
just the start of the process and can be achieved in the short term.
All comments will be considered and the draft Plan will be revised accordingly
before the final document is sent to the printers. A summary of the plan will
be distributed to all households in the Culm Valley.

Council Precept
Cullompton Town Council is asking Mid Devon District Council to collect an
extra £16,000 on its behalf for the Town Council’s precept for
the year 2005/2006. This will take the annual budget from £82,000 to £96,000.
