Youth Cafe OPEN

PRESS RELEASE

Volunteers are needed to help supervise the Cullompton Youth Café.  The Cullompton Youth Café was officially opened by Cullompton Town Mayor Councillor Barrie Marshall on Friday 14th September.  It is held at Community House on the corner of Church Street and Fore Street, is open every Friday and Saturday evening between 7.00pm and 10.00pm.

Town Mayor Councillor Marshall explained that “All teenagers are very welcome to come along and enjoy the facilities which include a pool table, computer games and music”

Various organisations including Cullompton Town Council, Devon County Council, Mid Devon Community Safety Partnership, Cullompton United Charities and the South West Foundation have provided grants and support to make this project happen.  The project is also supported by the Devon Gateway Development Trust, Involve and the Police

Mrs Marilyn Bidmead, Chairman of the Youth Café Working Group stated that “we were very pleased at the large number of young people that attended the first session but at present we only have a small band of volunteers to help supervise the sessions, to enable this project to keep running and make it a success we need a lot more volunteers”

Anyone willing to assist with this very worthwhile project should either drop in to the Youth Café any Friday or Saturday evening or contact Cullompton Town Council on 01884 38249 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.
