Excellent website, well done to whoever maintains it. One question - could the profile of the Northern Distributor Road be raised? Can't find out much about it, although details may be somewhere on this site. This road would make a major difference to our town. What is the hold up?

[Thank you for your kind comments Steve, the town council is continually raising questions over the Northern releif road - will contact you direct - moderator]

I am a Canadian with relatives living in Cullompton (Cyril and Decima Warren, Jane and Ray Short). I am not often able to come across for a visit and I do get lonely for my dear Grandad and family. I found your website and really enjoyed the history, news, pictures etc.. It helped me to feel a little closer to a place with such wonderful memories. I hope to come back in the not to distant future.
Thank you.

Well layed out site, I would like the parents of Cullompton to know that there is an active junior golf section at Padbrook Park. There are lessons for beginners every Monday at 10.00 through out the holidays by Rob Thorpe PGA Pro.
I am the junior organiser whose task it is to give the youth of Cully an opportunity to participate in local and Southwest Region Golf Competitions. So come on down and represent your town in golf, meet new people and support Padbrook, we are here for you.

[Thanks Ian, we will place an item on our news page for you. - moderator]

Looks like everyone seems to use this as a comments page ratherthan a guest book so here go's
What about a diary page or something for events in the future ?
In fairness the Farmer's Market (july10)is mentioned, and I did find out about the Possessioning (July11)but they are on different pages and it is not easy to get an overall picture. (well i tried Leat and other search words first not poss....I guess it wil also depend upon people letting someone know what is on, so I will send in something this week

[Thanks "Anon" for comments, we do envisage a calendar & a discussion Forum later - moderator]

I have had to traverse Cullompton for the last 18 years to get into and out of Devon.
It is about time the community got together and forced the powers that be to create a by-pass away from the high street to divert the 7.5 ton plus vehicles. It is horrendous to negotiate, particularly since stopping midway down the street for unloading at all hours is permitted.

What would otherwise be a charming town has become a nightmare for all motorists who have to get to and from the M5, and a very negative image is the result. Honiton, by comparison, is a thriving and attractive town. The only difference, in my view, is the existence of a by-pass to keep all but essential traffic from the main town thoroughfare of Honiton.

[Thank you for comments, they have been mentioned before and we do keep asking for "something" to take traffic away from town - your comments may well be an interesting topic for a discussion Forum in the near future ! - moderator]
