Hello All: My great grand aunt, Maria May married William Charles Grant in 1843. They lived in Hillersdon House in Cullompton. I have tried to discover the name of the present owner so I could communicate and ask questions about any May connections they may know. If anyone can help with this quest, I'd be most appreciative. Thank you. Best wishes, Phil May

Hi Everyone

We were in Cullompton in August 2005. It was awesome, we unfortunatly had a few irate drivers honking at us, as we tried to negotiate the beautiful unchanged Streets in our Motor-Home. Sorry, but we would do it all again. :grin :grin We will be back one day as we are doing our family history around the small Villages of, Bradninch and Silverton.

Bye

I once visited Cullompton whilst holidaying in Devon and remember it as an attractive, unspolit picturesque small town. I ahve haad a look to see what your town Council is active in. Years later I am part of a team trying to establish a Town Council in Billingham, North East England. We hope this will be granted by the ODPM in May 2006 as we have been trying to get this to happen since 2003. Our Campaign website is http://homepages.tesco.net/~G.Robertson/
Admin's Comment: Thank you for taking time to re-visit us albeit on the internet. We wish you all the best in establishing your own town council. I will visit your campaign website, our best wishes to all in your quest.

I spent the first 20 years living in Cullompton later getting married in 1982 and moving away. I visit family on a regular basis so keep upto date with the many changes that have and are taking place, but it was nice to come across the Cullompton Web site.

I have found it very informative especially the history of Cullompton. It mentioned the name of Hillersdon, which rang bells as I spent the first 5 years living at Hillersdon House when it was owned by people called Grant-Sturgis. I have always wanted to trace the history of the House and the estate which was why I was pleased to find this Web page. I would like to hear from anyone who would be able to provide any information to help me. Many Thanks.
Admin's Comment: Thanks for your comments & welcome back to Cullompton. You are second person interested in Hillersdon House in past week, please register and put item on our "Forum" page it may get more replies.

I have been researching my family tree, looking for Charles Radford my great grand father. This is the first time I have seen your site and found the information very interesting.
Admin's Comment: Hi Christina, there are Radfords still in the area, I will send email, perhaps you may like to place entry in our genealogy forum, and see if there are others that can help. :)
